Thought Puljujarvi’s game was good tonight. Looked much more polished and effective. Khaira is looking like a helluva player, too.

Talbot could probably get you a 5.75M per year til 2023 bum with 3 goals and 6 points though.

At least Lucic can hit and fight.

Big W for the Oil.
I think he drove the last nail in his own coffin when he didn't pull the goalie with 3 minutes left, on a power play, and down by 2.

A team with an awful PP vs a very stout Oilers PK tonight makes pulling the goalie on the PP dangerous. No worries about icing the puck so they can shoot from anywhere to try and ring an empty netter on the PP also. Not saying Hakstol made the correct call, but I understand why he didn’t.

No. It was dumb. I disagree. That was there best possible opportunity right there and they wasted it.

All hail HITCH!! There’s nobody who expected this team to start looking like a machine on a mission. Death Valley is Alberta again for NHL teams traveling through. Me likes it

On paper it should be another "W" on Sunday.

Lets go Oilers!

Why does TSN and NHL both have the Sharks ahead of the Oilers in the standings? Does the tie-breaker go off head-to*head? I thought it was games played, wins, then head-to-head.

Was also wondering....thought they went by wins when tied in points. Only thing I see is goals for.

Could be good times for Alberta to come. Teams will fear rolling through Alberta once again.

Yeah, curious too. What you have above is not quite what I found on the tie-breaker rules on nhl.com standings page (bottom). Games played, even at 33, still tied. ROW, 17, still tied. Head to Head, Edmonton 2 points for the OT win in November, SJ got one. That should have been it right there. Don't get it.

So it would appear the standings are incorrect and the Oilers are in second.

I'm impressed, poor Todd's value goes down daily.

Before hitch I honestly thought this team wild never be capable of being a decent defensive team with the back end and depth they have. But hitch surely has taken this team and held individuals accountable in their own zone.
I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt confident about the oilers playing in their own zone. Thanks hitch & koskinen.

While this is all great feel good moment. The season is 80 games. Of course they will go on a couple win streaks throughout the season at some point. They better start scoring by committee soon and not burn out Koskinen. There’s more to a team than a hot goalie and McDavid.

Agreed.

I think the coach change has been huge for him. I really hope the light goes on for him and he plays to his potential.

Yep. Agreed.

I can understand given the cards he has, but you gotta go for it. A loss by 1 or 2 is the same as a loss by 3.

Couple buddies that are Flyers fans were NOT happy. I was.

Always a ray of sunshine lol.

You’d find something to complain about while they are hoisting the Cup!

At that point he will be complaining about old age and hemorrhoids as well.

Nope, except on maybe Nashville and maybe one or two other teams.

Well I look at things differently I guess.

One decent season in 13 years. Look at a guy like Hopkins he’s been coached by 6 different coaches since he first suited up for he Oil.

I’m a realist. If the Oil have given you joy lately that’s great. I’m glad you have been entertained..
