Very cool, Peter! Based on what I heard the prices for beaver are this year, if a guy had the time, it'd probably be worth more to do something like that. I'm holding on to a couple of coyote pelts to do something with but I'm not sure what just yet. Probably one winter hat, just to be different.

Nice work on the quiver , sheath and mitts . Wonder how a wallet out of a tail would be , or would it just slap you on the butt ever time you put it in your pocket. lol..

If a person thinks about it ... there are alot of beavers caught and I am sure alot of tails just get wasted. ...Think of all that leather. Make a heck of a pair of riding chaps or leather pants for the bush or gloves, wallets, etc..
Use the oil gland from the beaver to waterproof the leather too.
A guy could become a beavertail leather mogul.

Hi there. I'm a physically active wheelchair user. I would like to know if a pair of home made leather gloves would last longer than store bought leather gloves and what the cost would be? I'll give some information as to what I'm looking for: black in color, considered to be mechanics gloves and go only as far as the wrist, the leather itself is grip enough to propel the chair.
Reading this thread made me think of the gloves I've been buying and blowing through. Thanks.
PM me with any insights as it's separate from this thread.

Would make a nice looking belt. With a small gold conibear or leghold trap for a belt buckle.

I've seen beavertail baseball caps.
An Aussie hat would be something!
