Everything I'm watching has still got their antlers. I seldom see any Deer drop here before mid Feb.

I started looking pretty hard early last year and only found a precious few. Wasn’t quite worth the gas and effort. Ah who am I kidding? Yeah it was! Haven’t seen anything that has dropped yet but I know one guy who has picked three so far. With this cold snap, a guy might see a few on the ground though.

I’d personally wait until March, give the deer a break.
They don’t need to be pushed around in the bush, it just stresses them out and burns needed calories. March is a good bet that most have dropped. With the odd deer still holding.

Yeah I agree, if anyone does go out good idea to only hit the feeding areas.

Saw about 80 mule deer on a drive yesterday in central alberta. Seen about 30 or so bucks still packing both sides. Didn't see any 1 antlered deer or obvious shedded bucks. Seen a few groups doing some light sparring as well. Deer were herded up feeding mid day.

Almost smoked a hard horned whitetail buck with the work truck in High Prairie on about the 28th. His partner was still packing too.

My 5-year old daughter was very excited to see him wearing only one antler. She knows they shed, but had never seen one before with only one, lol. She kept laughing saying that it’s funny.

Saw a group of Mulies East of Fort Saskatchewan yesterday, 3 bucks were in the group and all 3 were still carrying both sides. Looking forward to getting out soon to do some searching with the kids....

Out for a sled ride last weekend. Found a spot along a pipeline berm with a whole pile of tracks. Looked like they were all hanging out protected from the wind maybe.
