Default Folding Stock

My brother gave me a Remington 12G 870 Express, it has a no stock.
Anyone have some experience with folding stocks?
Which ones are good or bad.

How long is the barrel and what do you want to use it for?
The only time i woukd consider a folding stock is for a back up while bow hunting and even then I woukd be hesitant .

I am planning on carrying it while bow hunting. It should fit nicely in my quad box. The elk caller should be packing a gun.

I much prefer a short barrel and full butt stock to a folding stock , but golders do work.
I have one but do not like it because the balance is wrong for me.

The ATI top-folder is the cleanest looking folder, but Choate makes a side-folder that accepts AR buffer-tubes and stocks if that's your thing.

And the ATI is available at Cabelas. $130. https://www.cabelas.ca/product/30435...-w-pistol-grip

But as Cat mentioned, I'd rather have a full-length unit like a Magpul and make due with it...

Then you would be able to run a 12.5 or 14 inch barrel, available thru DLASK.

The top folders seem practical and look cool for the Trailer Park Tactical unit but they are unpleasant to shoot. Compact but hard on the shoulder and they get in the way of a side-saddle. A short barrel is better off with a full butt.

The side folders that use an M4/AR-type furniture are okay but not as good as a standard butt .

Run a short barrel full stock carried by single point attached at the butstock receiver joint. Can carry out front or just behind your arm. Shoot with the sling on.. i have the ati... looks cool....whacks your cheek bone something fierce... hasnt been on the gun for 10 years now!

I’m not a fan of folding stocks. I’d lean towards something like a knoxx stock before a folding one. One day I’ll use this 870 armored knowledge to build me a baller home defense shotty. Sucks they’ve become so expensive even the surplus LE ones which is what I’d look for due to the differences in Trigger group magazine coupler and springs.

Pistol grips and folding stocks are great, until you have to actually shoot your shotgun...

The worst solid butt stock is better than most folders. !2 gauge recoil isn't trivial, pistol grips to me are downright silly.

Haha that’s because you need to choose the right shotgun. A benelli m4 with pistol grip comes to mind!
