Default Premier and Minister Fishing

Looks as though our new Minister of Environment, Jason Nixon, Premier Jason Kenney and even our Minister of Finance Travis Toews have an interest in fishing. The latest Alberta Outdoorsmen has a story in it of them fishing with AO writer TJ Schwanky. Refreshing to see...

I guess if this politics thing doesn’t work out for them it’s good to have a fall back.

Pretty cool article always enjoy Schwanky's contributions. As much as I feel we have the right government in place, we really have the right environment minister and shouldn't let this opportunity go to waste. This is a guy that might actually listen to what people are seeing in the field and not solely worship what the bios are feeding him.

It's nice to see a minister take interest in hunting and fishing... unlike our past minister Phillips who didn't pay one ounce of interest.

This is an opportunity I hope pays off with Jason being in charge, I’m hoping the austerity and cuts doesn’t get in the way of policy changes that could really help our animals. From revisiting cougar quotas, the grizzly hunt and wolf control along with cwd action on the hunting front to opening up walleye to some retention to preserve the rest of the species in many lakes I’m really hoping we get some things done

They are catch and release fishermen. I know this because they have no problem letting things go.

I was reading today they’re going to be creating some task forces about the caribou, hopefully we get some meaningful action on predators in the west and north. Make sure that gets heard!

Any politician that hunts/fishes/traps is ok by me! Too many anti types that want nothing more than to shut it all down its nice to know there's a few we may be able to count as being in our corner!
