They did not have Keho, Twin, Newel or Badger. They did have Blood Indian and St. Mary's as well and they were both colder than Wab.
While I don't know for sure, it certainly looks like all the southern res's are cooler than Wab. Probably because their average depth is much deeper compared to their surface area than Wabs. Hence, they do not get the solar heating per unit volume that Wab gets.

Thanks cube.
Thats why I asked about Keho, Newel and Badger. They are shallow bowl shaped lakes that produce large pike in the South.

I found a report that was from 2003 and included Keho, Newel and I think Badger as well as the others. Again all (or at least most) were colder than Wab. There was I think 1 that came close to Wab but certainly non were warmer.

ok i havent read all the posts in this thread but yes. wab is alot slower for the big pike from a couple years back. having trouble breaking the 40inch mark past couple years. as 2 years ago 2-3 a day was very common. just my thoughts but wonder if the big pike are full from eating the eyes or are just not as many around. seen some 35inch with wslleye in there throuts. and chasing the eyed im fighting in thr summer.

Have never fished this lake but maybe just maybe the restaurant has moved and the large pike also.

I been thinkin this too but i couldnt help but think that those big pike well some of them could likely choke to death on a walleye too cuz i as well have caught a big pike with a walleye stuck in its mouth and with how many walleye are around the big point id bet my last dollar that walleye is on the menu for the big girls

And further more i bet the walleye are cleanin up all the perch ya used to see around there so the walleye would be next on the list for a pike

 and the Walleye will clean up anything they can.. That is a tail of a 2lb Whitefish hanging out of what should be a 6lb Walleyes mouth, and he still bit my hook...

Make sure you check the dates on the info... Pigeon lakes info from that site is 25 years old. No worries about algae... and you can either stay at zeiner or mameo provincial parks.. or mission campground....

I've also been thinking the increase in fishing pressure year to year has to be taking a toll on them. I'm personally seeing way more ice fisherman there than even 3-4 years ago.

This is getting funny already.
It’s like a bunch of guys walking along and they see a dyeing 60 year old man.
The first guy says probably a heart attack because we all know that at 60 you’re at greater risk for heart attacks.
The second guy says well that also means it could have just been a stroke.
The third guy says he probably just tripped and banged his head as he heard that accidents are the most common cause of death.
Finally the 4th guy says “all good idea’s guys and all could be true but maybe just maybe it’s the OVER 11.7 MILLION bullets that someone decided to pump into the victim’s gut”.

Missing the point- walleye don't eat the pike, they eat the forage base thus impacting the pike.
I rather liked the 60yr old analogy

Cant believe ive had over 100 messages on this. Some good points made here. Was at wab last Sunday. Caught a grand total of nothing in 4 hours. Fish cops were out and were really nice. They couldn't accurately comment on why it was so dead. Had a few flags. Fish seem very un aggressive. Not sure what the deal is?

Have you tried to move around the lake? It's all about location and trying new things we can still go out and get 100 fish in a day. We stopped for 30 mins last night and landed a 35 inch pike and a few smaller ones fast with missed strikes as well.
