Talking .405 winchester

Just wondering if anybody out there is hunting with the .405. 2 years ago shot a cow elk and a calf moose with hornady 300grainers and cant forget the "HIT BY FREIGHT TRAIN" effect that ol girl had on those animals. On the calf moose the bullet cut down a 4" poplar tree after leaving the calf. Gotta love it.. Anyone hand load for the .405?

Well I was advised granddad got it from a yank after a guided hunt some time in the 1920's and has been in the family since. Now its my turn. Nickel steel, smooth as silk action and a nasty butt plate.lol. If you hit what you shot at, there is NO tracking required. Picked up a new one at WSS in .405 and yep, not the same, gave it back. Have been hunting with the Hornady 300gr roundnose.
