Default Perch fishing flies

These are working well for me. A very easy tie.

Perch fishing fly variation 1

Perch fishing fly variation 2

It is just fun to try experimenting.

One uses rabbit fur...one uses marabou.

Orange and chartreuse thread is my go to colors.

Using a bend shank maruto 5350 hook size 10-12

Nice. Another variation that would be good is in silver or light grey. More like a small streamer that imitates a dacy minnow or spottail shiner. Big perch like minnows. 1/64th oz. head.

Good idea. These are more attractors versus natural. I have some silver tungsten beads to use.

Default Perch on a fly

Back in the early 1980's i was Fishing Lac des Isles, SK (in Meadow Lake provincial park) ... i was consistently catching perch between a pound and almost two pounds (my best was 1 lb 15 oz) and i noticed that they were full of large brown dragonfly larvae ... so i tied up some large (3/4 inch) ugly brown fuzzy flies (my skills were not good ...then nor now) .... but holy cow did they work for catching large perch on a fly rod in a shallow bay!!!!!
