The rifle I would chose just to go to the range with, and shoot off a box of shells is the 375H&H, It leaves me with such a sense of accomplishment.

That's a lot like what my gun cabinet is lookin like!

My favorite cartridge is the 280rem/ai hopefully followed by a 6.5x284 Norma since that's what I'm having built as well. Maybe the order will switch once I play with the 6.5x284....

Recently got a Savage 10T 308 Win. Heavy barrel. Flat beavertail forend, shoots bug holes @ 100 yds., recoils like a .223. Makes me feel like I'm an accomplished marksman, though I'm not.

My 470 NE is fun, but not for too long.

the double you almost had in 9.3x74 but it's not for shooting just nice to look at.

old favorite was m77 in 270 win, now my new favorite is 325 wsm and 1895 in 50 Alaskan when I feel like a little self inflicted punishment.

The 30BR would be my choice for targets to 300M (also a dandy deer round), except there is not much tinkering due to small number of easily obtainable 30 cal bullets under 130gr. This leaves the 6 Dasher for which there are plenty of different bullets to choose. Also good for targets and a very capable deer round.

What's my favorite? That's like asking what my favorite money is, which is all kinds! From the little 22lr to the 45-70, to the 7mm, the "06, anything that shoots a projectile gets my vote! One time I made a blow dart gun out 1/4" ss tracer ,used 18 gauge ss insulators tie wire about 5" long cut at angle with nippers that made it as sharp as possible, made a tight fold on the dull end of the wire, rolled a 1" strip of caution tape about 8" long on the end with the fold taped it on, then feathered it with my tin snips, all to take care of an unruly pigeon that was threatening the life of one of my workers who was deathly allergic. All my Manitoba crew was laughin at my contraption, that was until my 5th attempt, when put that dart right through that pigeons head from 20' away! The caution tape obviously prevented it from goin clean through. No lie, a bunch of my crew took pics, but that day, my favorite gauge was 18! Anything that flies through the air and kills things is my favorite!

Out of all my rifles my 6.5x55 and 6.5-284 are probably the most fun for target work. For clays my citori 725 is pretty fun.

22 Long Rifle. It's the same principle that driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car slow.

I enjoy the 260 probably the most, I did get a 6mm on paper the other day and it was really nice as well. It kinda depends on the rifle design, how it fits, weight etc.
My 257bob, 280 and custom 6.5rm are on the lighter side and jump around a bit.

Pretty hard to beat the 22 LR though for lots of trigger time and easy on the wallet.

Absolutely love my 280AI. I find it to be a very well balanced big game cartridge recoil isn't an issue (9.5lb rifle) and doesn't give up much to the 7Rem Mag. I can load anything from 140 grain deer rounds for some one who is recoil sensitive to shoot my rifle or up to heavy 180 for anything else. I personally just load Berger 168 and use it for everything. Plus for me I like that its a bit unique always fun having something a bit different to talk about with your buddies when you're out hunting.

Another smitten shooter! Got to love that short action 7 that strikes like the Hammer of God!

I have to go with a gauge, 28 gauge. I shoot more 28 gauge ammunition in a year than all other cartridges combined.

I don't think I have one- I gave some favorite rifles but there are several cartridges that I really like, the .22 LR and 308 for matches , and danged near anything and the .223 and 303 Brit for hunting
I also like a mess of 7mm's and 6.5's

And don't get me started on shotguns!!

I have a rem 700 in 7mm mag that I was fortunate enough to be given when a friend passed away. I would not have picked that calibre on my own, I've been a 2506 guy for years, but over the last 3 seasons it's all I use now for big game. But in total volume of lead it's got to be 223 that keeps the dust from settling on the reloading bench

Default Favourite caliber to shoot

Hands down my 25-06 Browning A-Bolt with the boss! Recoil friendly without the boss (using the CR) the recoil is tame.I can shoot all day at the range and no bruised shoulder. It shoots amazing groups! I have 2 shots in the same hole and one 3/16" next to the single hole using Nosler 120gr Partions. For my Coyote/Gopher shooting I use Hornady 75gr hp varmint bullets and can get the same groupings & better bye dialling down the boss! This is my fourth 25-06.First gun I bought at 15 was a Ruger 77/RS almost as accurate as the Browning.only reason I sold it was because I wanted the new wave boss & it is a much lighter gun. I have two ABolt boss rifles now,my first and favourite a Stainless Stalker was stolen I have shot Bull Elk,Moose, bear, deer with the 120gr Partion & never once needed a second shot! Super flat, fast and accurate. That is what we all want

I have more than one favourite.

And next week it might change and I'll find a new love of my life.

I'm a polygamist gun owner it seems.
