Default 3006 Brno upgrade

I have an old Brno 3006 rifle that my dad gave me. Very low round count as my dad was more of a hiker than a hunter. Don't have much use for the caliber so I was wondering if I could ream out the chamber to something with a little more punch. Any suggestions that you would recommend? I'd prefer not to have to re-barrel it if possible.

Thanks

Default Brno

If your not going to Africa? you have plenty of gun for anything that walks in North America..except maybe big bears...PS the gun is worth way more as a brno then anything else so if you want to sell .... let us know.

Trades I would interested in:
- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

Add some steroids to the old '06 and re-bore to .338-06.

Your gun, your choice.
But, altering a stock BRNO will lower its value. Already altered gun, not so much harm to value.
Want a different chambering, buy a different gun. You'll save money, guaranteed.

I wouldn't touch it one bit. You say it has low round count. Do anything to it and the value will drop. The 30-06 has plenty of punch and horsepower to hunt nearly everything in Alberta.
