Default Bondy's

I noticed that Bondy Baits are a sponsor of the fishing forum now. Maybe they have been for a while and I never noticed.

I was introduced to Bondy's on a fishing trip to Lake Athabasca quite a few years ago. We had great luck on them drifting and jigging for lake trout. They're heavy enough to keep them close to the boat drifting in deep water. I tried some of my go to lures while my wife continued to fish Bondy's. I couldn't find anything that I brought which would out fish the Bondy's.

Of course on my return I bought a nice selection of Bondy's. I've caught fish on them but haven't found they work as well in the lakes I fish. I've mostly fished them for lake trout.

Is anybody using them regularly and having good results?

I've never tried them but I had a friend stock up on them before our trip to Winefred last summer for pike. Not sure how he found their success though. It actually took us a lot longer than normal to find the fish and figure out what they wanted - I guess that's part of hot September fishing. I'll touch base with him and see what he thought overall of the Bondy's.

I've caught them there on Bondy's but there's better lures to use. They do make a smaller size but I don't own any. A friend has some smaller ones but I don't think he does any better on them.

Thank you folks. We are now a board sponsor and are a 100% Canadian company. We primarily manufacture soft plastics for everything from bass and walleye to pike and lakers. We consider our bait quality and customer service top notch and in Alberta they can be found at BPS and The Fishin' Hole. Hope you will watch our video in the link! Thanks again and if we can help in any way, please email us at jon@bondybaitcompany.com or message us through the forum. Take care all. Jon

I would like to try the Bondy lures at my NWT fishing lodge for lake trout. What color patterns work best for them and what size worked the best?

Pearl, Burbot and Northern Redhorse were good colours on Lake Athabasca.

Been using them for a few years now.
Great for summer ,but not for winter on Lakers
Find the price tag just to high $22.
Might work better if half the size for winter in burbot colour
They can fill up your tackle box right now .
For the $22 price tag they should come in a single hard shell tackle container.

Thanks guys. We do make a smaller 4.4oz bait called the Mini Wobbler but most guys catching the big lakers are using the Original and Magnum. Here is a 51lb caught on Athabasca last summer on a Bondy Magnum.

Vertical jig them or troll very slowly as you jig them back behind the boat. If you lose contact with the bottom you let out a little more line as needed. The Original and Magnum sink nose first. We think the lakers consider them to be whitefish or even burbot.
