All our positives were taken on the same section, next year it’s time to move on to another area.
It’s tough to throw out the packaged meat we had a meeting last night to figure something out nothing was agreed on.
what are others doing with it.

I'm tossing mine I guess? I just haven't had time to. My dog would kill me if he knew.

Son shot a Muley end of Nov south stettler area and got results Monday tested positive. Bringing an animal to butcher end of season had a huge backlog. Had animal cut up but no jerky or sausage done. Sucks time and effort. Only lost depositions they were good about it and will dispose of

Both my whitetail and mule bucks tested positive… we had 2 other whitetails negative so there’s still some hope for the area. Just a tip/something to think about, my grandpa out of habit had dispatched a whitetail that was still kicking with a round to the back of the head/neck area to stop the suffering and they were unable to do the cwd test…. Now we are stuck with meat from a 50/50 positive to negative year and unsure wether to risk it… (the field it was shot in has been 4/4 for positive whitetails the past 3 years)

You know what would be nice is if I could get another tag next year. I waited like 6 years, paid my money every year. Told them the coordinates of where I got him. And even took a sick mule deer out of the gene pool. You'd figure that they would be thankful. Jeez at least give me a coupon for some ground beef. Or something.

We tossed everything what a waste
Watched a show about Kuru it was enough to convince everybody the danger of prions, nasty little proteins.
Although we aren't eating human brains it's a similar disease not going to roll the dice.

If I recall correctly, at the beginning of the CWD testing era, they would give you a replacement tag. That changed a few years ago.
Yeah, a coupon at least, eh? No kidding! Would be nice.

Interesting, anyone have a good contact # or email for an update request? Have tried a few Biologist offices but hard to get the right person it seems.

I have her number but they pretty much tell you that they'll let you know when they have the results.

WinFwt that's great news.
FCLightning that's a bummer.
Any farmers want to let us put a few tons of meat in the middle of a field and have a coyote shooting competition?

Good news with the negative result.
Ya they let you know the results right away. So the only thing they have to say when you call is that they haven't gotten to it yet. I wish they had a field test that you could use for faster results.

I am still waiting for my results for Camp Wainwright PW Antlerless moose shot on day two of the hunt. I see results have come in for the 3rd hunt and now the second hunt. I would guess it should be any day now. I would have thought that the first animals harvested would be tested first but I guess that is not the case. They must wait until all the hunts are complete before the samples and heads are picked up for testing.

Sent a whitetail does in right after November and just got the all clear email.
I wonder if it would help the system if we took our own tissue samples and mailed them in instead of the freezers all over the place.

Just got results today - 3rd rifle at Wainwright - negative on a WTB. Nice to get this and not have to make a decision on tossing a bunch of meat.
Now to thaw the big packages a bit, do the grinding, repackage the steaks and roasts into smaller packages.
After reading the cooking reports on here going to try a neck roast for the first time.
