Trapping is a whole new world to me. So if if this post is dumb, tell me and I'll delete it.

I don't know if traplines are kept secret the way fishing and hunting spots are. But if they aren't...

I live in Calgary and have been reading a bit on trapping. But there's a lot of politics and different opinions. Does anyone who has a trap line (within two hours or so) wanna take a new guy out and give him a bit of the experience. Not looking to keep your pelts or gain anything tangible. Just experience a day on a trapline and learn a few things. I have a truck and weekends off. So if anyone wants a hand on a Saturday in December, let me know.

Thanks

Don't think they are kept secret if its on a RFMA as you would have to be signed on as a partner to trap anyway, maybe different for resident trapping. Maybe try to attend a local trappers meeting and meet some trappers, might be a good place to start. Can't help you more as you are way south of my country. Good luck

Centralalbertasongdogslay was looking for some help packing beaver. It's a bit of a drive but would likely be a good experience.
