Default Beetles

Went out to the ice shack yesterday to kill a few hours, and was greeted by an awful smell from the beetles...there were literally hundreds of then, tried to stir the water and make them swim away, but to no avail. ended up scooping them out and dumping them down a hole outside. I have seen this before with freshwater shrimp, very tiny red bugs, and paddle boats before, but never these big beetles, and never had the stench like that from these bugs either!

Never seen that many before either - Were the fish on a feeding frenzy? Where was this?

Pulled an overstuffed rainbow out of Blood Indian earlier in the season and it had 14 of the giant beetles that look like what you have there...
