Default Lost Springer Spaniel - Rosemary Lease, SE of Gem, Alberta

Last night a buddy of mine lost one of his springers 20 km SE of Gem, Alberta on his way home from the Rosemary Lease. If anyone is in the area please keep your eye our for a female springer spaniel answering to SHILOH. She had a training collar on at the time she disappeared. Thanks for keeping your eyes open if you are in the area.

Most dogs have great "Homing" insticts. I have left my springer at trapline when she wandered off. Have come back many hours later and she usually at site where truck was parked. Springers do not get lost.
Suggest go to site where you parked your truck every few days, scout and call.

Leave a jacket or blanket with your smell all over and hopefully you have a dog on it soon

Keeping my fingers crossed for the dogs safe return. And have to agree with the dog wandering back to the general area where the truck was parked. Dogs can be pretty smart too when they are lost and it also could have taken up shelter in a barn or old shed in that area. Hope the dog gets found soon.

My cousin has let a few people know about the missing dog. The Rosemary lease rider will keep an eye out too.

I haven't heard anything.
I appreciate everyone's PM's, and keeping your eyes open if in the area.

Good luck finding puppy-pup. Lonely feeling not knowing where they are, especially when night falls. Knotted stomach to say the least. Good luck to you and your family.

Two years ago a guy lost a Brittany within a mile or two from the exact spot where this dog was lost. The dog wandered out to the corner of Finnegan Ferry road and was picked up by a local lady.Maybe someone in Brooks area could post on facebook as it helped to find the lost Brittany.

Default Update

UPDATE - Shiloh was found this afternoon at 4pm near hwy 556. Obviously hungry and thirsty, but overall in good shape. A huge thank you for everyone who looked for her, everyone who sent me PM's, and a thank you to everyone who texted friends/family who were going to be in the area. A happy ending to a heart wrenching week of Shiloh not being with her family.

Great news!

I actually passed on opening this thread back up a few times in fear the outcome would not be good.

Good to hear . I lost my gsp while camping in some thick bush 2 years ago one minute she was laying down by the campfire next minute she was gone . Looked for 4 hours and finally found her she was soaking wet and the only water around was over 4 k away its amazing the miles they will put on . We found her 6 km down a cutting from where we were camping . Pure luck . Glad you got yours back personally mine doesn't go anywhere with out the garmin on anymore .
