You know guys. This overly doesn’t bother me to much. We had some fun, Flames made a extra 4,000,000 or so. Changes need to be made next year and I am sure they will happen.
But to have all you guys jump on here and try and push it in our faces... Come on
Last year I know for a fact way more people from the Calgary side gave out some supporting kudos after you lost than those that didn’t. I know Sheep was good about it(Who was strangely absent this year), I know I was good about it and I know the vast majority was good about it.
But whatever makes you feel good about yourself. Fact is we made it farther than you did this year. We kind of sucked and you really sucked. Teams are based on a year by year thing. Not what you did last year or the year before the shutout or what you did last century.
Next year is just a few months away. Perhaps a better year for both is coming up
This team took the best team in the NHL to double overtime in game 6.No needs to hang their head. Just needed to learn how to win on the road.
Anyhow Flame away (Pun intended). That’s if it makes you feel better about your Oiler's

Flames didnt make it....big deal. They obviously didnt play hard enough against a team that knows how to really come out and hammer. The Wings were taken a bit lightly, and they paid for that....

Sports are about right now, and doing it right now. Its not about how good a team used to be, or how good a team could be....its about what a team is doing and does....period.

The Oilers decided to stop playin hockey in February.....the effort and skill just cant be compared between the two clubs this year....and this is not coming from a Flames fan....

Flames got what they deserved their ass kicked. Out shot and out played in every game, kipper can only do so much. Both teams sucked this year, If you think differently then your thinking form your heart and not your head.

The oilers mabey never had skill this year, but common..they put the effort in till the last minute of the last game. Anyone who watches actual hockey realizes this..wether they are oiler fans or not. All our young guys really stepped it up, and thats why we will be good next year. Sure a few guys were under achieving, but it happens...knock knock..IGINLA this year.

And as for whatever you said about oiler fans, give your head a shake man, lol...you guys did the EXACT same earlier on this year. You can compare the teams all you want...but on paper, the oilers are better than the flames in pretty much every single category. GO BUFFALO!

Unfortunatley the games are played on the ice not on paper there Perchy. Both teams fell wayyyy short of expectations and their fans are bummed as evidenced by the banter here.......all will be fine. Rack as you appear to be a Leafs fan I am forced to ignore any comments you make as contridictory to the actions of your fellow fans, hell they still hate Gretzky and Kerry Fraser with a passion. And dispite how bad Calgary was this year. Edmonton was not better on paper. I dont know what Edmonton team you were watching this year.
Both teams have a heck of a lot of work to do in the off season if they serriously want to run for the cup.

some observations from an Oiler fan:
-Flames were better than Oilers this year. Get over it guys. Luckily they weren't a whole lot better.

-Flames finally got the offense everyone was crying for. How'd ya like it? LOL

Bashing each other here is part of the fun of sport, as long as it's said with a smile. I always grin when I say "The Flames suck the big one!" And no, you aren't stupid if you like the Flames, just misguided LOL

This summer will be fun for fans of both. BOTH have a ton to do to get better. I do think the Oilers have more cap room and ability to do so, especially as there is no one player that is absolutely a keeper. Iginla and Kipper will restrict what sutter can do. Anyway, hope, even deluded hope, springs eternal.

This post makes me laugh. Both teams made a unexpected run in the last few yrs but the talents not there on either team. Flames have stars in Iginla and kipper but outside of that the just no name players. Oiler have up and comers but thats about it. They brag up flames defence but they are very average in the new nhl. Flames were the worst clutch grab team when they made it to the finals but leagues different NOW. GO CANUCKS GO
