22 barrel bulge

Hi everyone, bought a 22 from a fellow and see a bulge about one inch from the muzzle,what is the best solution to fix it cut the barrel or drill it out? Thanks Bill.

Cut and recrown the barrel.

Cut and crown. Can’t get a good enough finish if try to drill out. Drill will try and keep running down the bore .

Shoot it first as it is possible it doesn’t cause accuracy issues .

I agree with FPS, have shot lots of old 22s that had bulges, some had more than one. None of them where benchrest competition guns, so for plinking and small game they all still shot fine.

Good to know if considering any kind of alterations provided it doesn't shoot well.
