You should have seen the size of the whitefish that were winterkilled in dalmead. I'll bet there were at least a dozen on the shore pushing the 6lb mark.

I believe the WF population is so low in Pigeon now there isn’t much left to summerkill. I remember the county using a loader to load up dump trucks of killed WF off of Mameo beach to be hauled away.

on a side note the walleye in pigeon were few but big before the mass stocking .was normal to catch 5-9 lb walleye . my personal best was 12lb 15 oz. they grew fast with all the whitefish for food .

All you ever hear is that the walleye ate all the whitefish fry in pigeon lake. There’s no more whitefish in the lake there’s to much walleye. All that happened was the abundance of walleye pushed the whites to deeper water and there is still lots of whites in the lake. Figure out how to catch them and quite complaining that they are not there cause they are and very catchable.
