Default Pigeon Lake up date

Sept 15 friday got out on the lake late around 10:30 am missed the morning bite and left before the evening bite . Water was very green . Sonar just not working that great because it was just dirty water . Only like 4 trucks /trailers in parking lot . Caught more pike than walleye .

Default Pigeon Lake

Thanks for your post on Pigeon Lake, I was thinking of going out this week and was wondering what the water was like. Don't like to go out when it's that bad plugged up my intake on the motor one year.

Was out on Saturday. The water has the green colour but there was no surface film /thick algae build up where we fished. Was one of our slow days for sure out there. The fish we caught were really thick and healthy though. If ya have tags to fill it’s a good time.

Got back on the lake today . Weather forecast was saying good weather . Lol
Had whitecaps when we launch at 9:30 am and had 4 ft swells at times on the lake
Just did not want to stop fishing as they were hitting the jigs all day got off at 5 pm. Nothing beats fall fishing and the lake coming over the bow . Maybe one more trip yet

I did think anyone would be out in whites caps. Our shore line was getting pounded by big waves for about a week now except Sunday.
Glad to hear they are biting good. Still have tags to fill.

it was a cold day on the water yesterday ,walleye would not chase a trolled spinner rig on a bouncer, but could not leave a jig and minnow alone , fish on before jig would hit the bottom of the lake. the fall bite is on .

Was out yesterday, new boat test drive. Didn't fish. OMG.... the algae. Never seen it that bad? Especially in October. 1" think green a blue on mulhurst side. Pretty clear on park side. It stunk too.

south wind has blown the algae to the north side of the lake. south side not to bad , it should disappear soon with lower temperature forecasted and big winds

Not sure if its the algae or just the warmer water . But the walleye just did not taste that clean and were not that firm as the walleye from cold lake .

I can attest to this, was out yesterday and the mats of blue green floating around the Mulhurst side was bad, and just green in general. On the mameo side the water was clear, but wow is it ever low.

the lake has dropped well over afoot from its highest point in June . no big rains seen then to raise the lake level . took the dock out early this year as water to low float the boat at the dock for a while now . the water was clearer yesterday which is good to see. hopefully its the begining of the end for the algae . just glad it started quite late this year and no fish die off.
