Default Best .22 pistols

Has anyone played around with the GSG 22?

What's the best bang for your buck when it comes to 22 pistols?

I have a GSG. I really like it. It likes HV ammo like CCI Mimi mag. Great little gun for plinking. I have other 1911's and the GSG replicates them so well in functionality and weight it makes a great cheap ammo practice gun. Little sanding and polishing on the slide and it will shoot flawlessly. Lots of youtube stuff on GSG's.
Sights are cheap but can be changed. Finish is easy to scratch.
I have a two tone---$430 ish....

I looked at a lot of reviews before I purchased a 22 pistol. I ended up buying a smith and Wesson M&P 22. It's a really nice pistol and has worked flawless so far with any ammo I have tried in it. It's not the 1911 style if that's what you were going for tho. Would recommend it to anyone!

I have a S&W model 41 myself, but for a more budget minded gun, I like the Ruger Mark III.

I was lucky enough to get one of the last Kadet model made by CZ. Love that one work flawlessly with all the ammo I try. Unfortunately CZ doesn't make that one anymore but you can buy a kit that will work with mostly all CZ handgun.

i would get a browning buckmark or ruger mark III over a GSG any day

never had a feeding problem with my browning buckmark with any ammo i have tryed yet

my buddies said his GSG is very selective on ammo, only higher velocity ammo seems to cycle fully, but even then he says he is lucky to get a full mag shot out without a issue

1911 .22 the best in my opinion, so far over 3000 rounds fired and not a single jam, case separation or miss fire.

I've had my GSG for 3 years now. Likely about 10K rounds through it and runs flawlessly.
Sunday past was typical...a box of Federal Automatch (325rds)...one stove pipe, but my 12 year old gets those occasionally because he limp wrists it a bit.
I added this last year https://www.zrtacticalsolutions.com/...imate-package/
The way the slide works their is a little slop in the stock slide alignment cone which allows a little play between slide and barrel, affecting accuacy.
With the addition of the ZR kit I cut the group sizes in half.
At 15m rested the gun easy groups an inch...at 25m 2-3".
My only complaint is the finish...it is not conventionally blued...some sort of paint which does wear more than bluing. Am considering cera-coating it this year.
All in all, a great little plinker. And whether .45ACP, 9mm or .22LR...a 1911 is a 1911

I have a GSG 1911-22LR and it eats any ammo I feed it. Any FTF or FTE usually indicates that I am long overdue for a cleaning.

Great gun.

I had a GSG. I found it finicky and not as accurate as I had hoped.

I sold it and bought a Buckmark. I liked it so much, I tricked that one out and bought a second one

Browning Buckmark. Accurate out of the box. Adjustable sight, great trigger, works fine with standard and Hi vel ammo, easy to clean. Not expensive. What is there not to like.
Would also consider browning 1911-22 but it is more expensive.
