Default What happened to this case?

Going through reloading some range brass 9mm and came across this piece of federal. Not too sure what would have caused this or if it affects shooting again. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like the factory crimp device needed adjustment, maybe...

Like it crimped the case half way down, instead of at the case mouth.

Just looked a little odd that's all. It seemed to load up just fine so maybe no problem at all.

The little grooves are fairly deep in the brass but I don't think it should affect performance too much. What do you think?

I am not seeing an issue with the case.

Looks to me like a Remington 9mm case that likely would have been factory loaded with 147grain .355's

In other words, nothing. Nothing is wrong with that case other than it hasn't been chambered and shot yet.

What happened to that case? Nothing it was manufactured that way. Next time your at the range look around at the spent brass laying around, you will see this is quite common, it is just a factory stamping or crimp put in the brass by some manufacturers on some loads when it is manufactured.
