Default Duelling Tree Target

Looking to pick up a " duelling tree " target system.

Do they make these in Alberta

Something like in this video by Big Daddy Hoffman

Would need AR500 steel of course.

You would have to get a quote for AR500.

Default Nice Links

Those are two really nice links.

I guess one is in Ontario and the other in BC.

I would think with all the rig welders / pipeline welders not doing too much these days someone would start making these systems using the AR 500 steel here in Alberta.

The duelling tree I am sure would sell well.

I would buy one or two. I hear you can just change the paddles to go from 22 on up to something larger.

We had paddles that were of welded construction on our handgun dueling tree in Fort McMurray, and the welds kept breaking, these one piece paddles look much stronger.

Default CMC cuts

Sounds like the AR 500 steel needs cutting by a water jet so as to not overheat the steel.

Here is a duelling tree at work. Would be fun with two shooters against each other trying to get all the plates on one side to win.

We did have a lot of fun using them, but since I shot mostly revolvers, We had to limit the number of shots, to keep things fair. Speed was less of a factor than accuracy when everyone had the same amount of shots.

Naw I've cut gongs out of AR500 with a plasma table, and they turned out just great. You don't need to get them water jet cut.

Default gongs

I've got a set I flame cut by hand over a decade ago and they last just fine. You would have to heat the whole plate over 450 to start change and over 660ish to have any real effect on the metallurgy.
