Default <Question> Fishing in Cuba

Hello, our family will be staying at Melia Marina Varadero Cuba this coming January. I'm thinking of taking my rods with me. Just to be sure, we can fish in Cuba right? If so, I would like to do some shore fishing near the resort. Will 20 lb green braided line with 4-5 oz sinker be Ok there?

Cheers

You will want to deck yourself out with a good salt water reel and salt water line.

Things will get crusty.

I have heard of guys doing well casting Pike lures for barracuda around docks & shallows.

Be sure to check online for any special regulations, if anything call your resort and see what their policy is for shore fishing.

Thanks. I was thinking of buying some cheap rods and reels and after use just left for the locals.
