Default Spotting scope covers

So I picked up a Vortex Razor Hd 16-48x65 which was on sale at wholesale for a price I couldn't pass up. Love everything about it except the stupid cover. I'd like a neoprene one with the flaps over the lenses. What is everyone using or maybe something different that they like.

I have one and find it works fine. What is it you don't like?

I thought the neoprene sucked. No protection for anything more than dust, so I got hold of some foam and vinyl and had my better half fab me up a custom fitted unit. It's better than anything I found to purchase in my opinion.

Maybe we are talking about a different case design. Mine is made of heavy duty cordura lined with a nylon padding. It has a zipper around the front to enable using the scope with the case on. It also has full length zipper so can remove the case totally. This case offers reasonable protection in my opinion.

yeah maybe getting one made to fit exact might be something to look in to. I don't like how you have literally unzip the entire thing to use the focus and then it's just hanging off it and the flaps come undone. Yeah sure it's nice throwing in the truck on to location but when going out and going from spot to spot it's not very handy.

Yes, it takes a little time to take it out to use and then put it away when finished. I hunt mostly on horseback or on foot. When on a horse I carry it my saddle bag along with my tripod. When on foot it is in my backpack. In both locations I want it reasonably protected so I can live with the case. These scopes are worth too much money to risk being damaged. If there is a way to protect and be handier to get at I would be all for it.
