So as much of you know. Tomorrow is opening day for most creeks & rivers (June 16th). I book this week off every year. However, of course no one can predict mother nature. So I decided to go do some scouting today for my fellow fly fishers looking to wet a line.
Here are some places I had time to visit today.
The Highwood River
(June 15th 2020)
From Kananaskis all the way down beyond Longview, was a long line of chocolate milk.
Etherington Creek
(June 15th 2020)
Running high, but visibility isn't all that bad.
Cataract Creek
(June 15th 2020)
Running High, visibility poor.
The Sheep River
(June 15th 2020)
From Kananaskis all the way beyond Turner Valley, long line of chocolate milk
The Elbow River
(June 15th 2020)
Quite High, and surprisingly blue. Visibility wasn't the worst I've seen.

Wow, tremendous work FFL. I was wondering, as I couldnt go today (16) but am hoping to get out tomorrow or Thursday. Lots of choco, lol. Etherington looks decent though. I've been torturing myself by fishing the central spring creeks lately and need a break from the wary browns.
Thanks for sharing , nice pictures !! Camping in the oldman/castle area with the wife for a week starting June 27 so hoping river levels are good and the drakes/stoneflies are hatching !!!
