Default Cheap scope ideas for Ruger mannlicher?

Before I go buy something....I thought i'd ask opinions on cheap scopes for a ruger 10/22 mannlicher I purchased. Used for fun plinking / grouse hunting.
Maybe a budget of +/- $250

Thanks 360hunt

My 10/22 wears a 6x62, German made Weatherby scope, I bought used. Lots of good deals on quality used scopes out there that fit the bill.

Leupold makes a 3x9 Rimfire scope that would fit in your budget. Even the VX-Freedom 3x9x40 are only about $320 new.

Nikon has a nice 2-7 rimfire scope that's usually under $250 or a Vortex Crossfire.

A friend of mine has Burris fullfieldII's on both of his rimfires. About 300 bucks, very impressive for the money, have a look at them.

I have a Leupold VX1 2-7 rimfire on top of my Ruger 10/22 mannlicher & it is a perfect set-up for me. Cochrane had the Freedom rimfire for just over $250 and a few friends use the Nikon 2-7 and I really like them too.

So Leupold vs Vortex's lowest end scope or Burris all at the same price, so many choices, such a tough decision.

Leupold rimfire would be my choice.
Putting an oversize, overweight scope on a walking around rimfire makes no sense to me.

Default scopes

I wish in the beginning I had that, good advise."good" glass.makes for enjoyable shooting --be it game or target.I threw some cheapies in the garbage, rather than have someone else suffer their performance.

Buy a good used one which has a lifetime warranty. This way you can get better glass for what you pay yet not have a worry about buying used. Keep clear of the high magnification cheap scopes such as a tasco. Often they are not clear on the high powers.

It's about optics. Can't find them in the usual cheap 3/4 in. rim fire scope. A whole world of difference when it comes to hitting what you're aiming at and how far.

I put a used Bushnell Scopechief 1.5-4.5 on my 10/22. Something like that or similar would be perfect.

And the Leupold 2-7 rimfire has excellent optics in a compact 1 inch tube. What's your point?

If you start comparing scopes with an optical discrimination grid, you will find that some of the highly advertised brands don't stand up optically.

My local crappy tire has Bushnell Elite 3200's for around $250. I have one and consider it at least as good as my Leupold VXII, and much better than my VXI. For $250 you are not going to find a better scope, either 3-9 or 2-7, go get one before they are gone.

I have a leupold 2-7x28 rimfire and it is awesome.

Even has the m1 target knobs calibrated for 40gr high velocity with settings every 25 yards

Pretty fun!

I’m a big fan of Nikon! The clarity is pretty decent for a low end scope

A Ruger 10/22 Mannlicher, rifle under discussion, is no sniper rifle. Great plinker.

I wouldn't call them low end except in the price. Very impressive glass, especially with price considered.

Killed many a gopher or magpie out past 100 yards with a cheap $30 Bushnell rimfire scope, mounted on a cheap Savage .22. I will not say that super cub is wrong.
