I gotta say the 2nd one on the tail spin is amazing... well both are amazing but if I was to be able to pick only 1, I would go with the 2nd one. Great work, they are all looking amazing!

Ok so here is two out of the four lures that will be giving away at the end. They are all clear coated and assembled waiting in my lure room for the winner

I am carving some new designs as well debating on what 2 designs I will add

One suggestion for the winner of the contest is to pinch the barbs on these lures. I use large hooks so they hold very well barbless and are not taken as deep. I find this works well but if you leave them barbed the larger hooks can be tough on smaller pike

Trust me the way these lures hook up barbs are not needed. I would say 90% or more of the pike caught this year on these designs are T bone hits taking the front hook or both hooks. Landing % had been extremely high with barbless

When I have forgotten to pinch the barbs it has been too time consuming/hard on the fish and unnecessary for keeping them hooked up

This is a suggestion but in the end is your choice

Carved out the one concept sketch and it’s just in the refining stage. Some sanding and then it’s time to make a mold. After that it’s getting the weight/buoyancy correct with my resin mix

It’s a bit of a beast by some people’s standards even without the soft tail added but I like big baits.

Is it a bit much for you guys?

I am also going to start carving this lipless crankbait concept today

Odds are one of the above lures will be provided for the contest but un decided still

I am also debating for the contest of doing a one off wooden crankbait instead of one of my resin poured lures. It would be a one of a kind and not replicated

A lot of very nice pictures on this thread. Way to go to everybody who got a nice Pike! First of these pics, the one with the bad hand hold on the fish is 15.6 pounds and the other one is 9.5 pounds. I was fishing a part of the lake I would never be hunting Pike in and I was using a tiny jig with a 2.5 inch rubber body on
it. The 15.6 pound one was the first fish that my wife ever needed for me and she did an awesome job. Both of these would have been a personal best for me. I weighed my net empty and then weighed the fish in the net and subtracted the net weigh. Both fish revived nicely and swam away no problem thank the Lord! So ashamed of my hand hold on the bigger fish lol

So sorry to hear about your news, my condolences to you and your family. Take all the time you need lures are far less important then your family and your own healing needs.

Our pike population has taken a beating in recent years so this year I haven't caught a single pike worth photographing.

I don't even carry a camera on most fishing trips so I don't have a lot of fishing photos to begin with. The few I do have would not be admissible for this contest.

They are all, too old, not from this year, too big, I only photograph the catches I want to remember. Or not of Pike.
This year my best catches were Walleye. My best photos were of the grandkids catching Perch.

But it's nice to see what others are catching. Good thread.

I know I have been slow getting the lures done bare with me I wanted to provide something special for this contest. I did not want to just provide lures I have already designed and tested. Because of this and a few other reasons I have been slow

The mold is made and the first test pour is done. I will test the action tomorrow and if it’s good I will complete it. If not I will have to do a few test pours

The pic is the blank I will test tomorrow

I was at a lake up north and happened to run into an old buddy of mine I hadn’t seen in years. He was fishing with his son and looking for big pike but not having any luck. My other buddy and I were up there fishing for walleye as we normally do but know the lake very well from many years of past glory’s. I mentioned to him to follow us the next morning and we will put them on some pike. I even gave his boy one of my lures that has had lots of success in the past. Anyway, we get to our spot, they see us on the water and head over, as they are approaching and literally on my first cast, boom! This big girl hit hard and fought even harder. Good times and they ended up finding some nice fish as well so was a win-win for everyone.
