Default 300prc to the US military tryouts

Hornady announced they won a contract on the 300PRC , along with McMillan for some guns in 300PRC, that should raise some interest in that cartridge;

article says the 300 PRC outperformed the 300 Norma past 2000 yards. I can't see how because the PRC is based on the 375 Ruger and the 300 Norma is based on the 338 Lapua. must be more to the story, I need Paul Harvey to fill in the details

Maybe has something to do with the twist rate on the McMillan rifle?

Isn't the parent case for the .300 Norma the .338 Norma Mag,which was based off the .416 Rigby?
The .300 PRC uses a standard length long action and magnum bolt face ,same as the .300 WM.easy for swap over.
The .300 NM uses the .338 Lapua sized bolt face, maybe that's what your thinking?
