Ok, I have gone through countless threads but only found bits and pieces of info. I want to get a coyote and make it in to a russian style aviatar hat. I have never done this before and have no idea where to start other than get a coyote and skin him. If anyone has a step by step of how to dry/cure/tan?, not sure which one would be right, could you please let me know? Thanks
it'ld be real nice for you to buy a tanned coyote, buy at halfords in edmond=ton, thenbuy yourself a pattern and cut the coyote with a sharp knife without cutting hair and then hand stitch the hat using very strong thread. if you go and skin a coyote and tan it, then your leathere will not be nice or proper and the fur may slip. u can tan it and do it and get it done, it can work.if u want. the guy at halfords is a tanning expert, give him a cal 780 474 4989
