Default Anyone restocked a tikka action?

All this talk of the macmillans etc. just curious if people are putting aftermarket stocks on tikka actions? I tried the mcm website but i guess i need a flash player at work? So i couldn't see anything. Anyone know if they are being made for tikkas?

Best re-stocking of a tikka would be to re-stock it on the shelf.......hahhaa....ouch....that hurt.

Sorry...I had to take that shot....

I've never seen any aftermarket stuff for Tikkas.....I think a few guys have fitted some Sako stocks on em, but definatly not very much goin on in the aftermarket dept....

Hahah....I had to man....I'm not sure a Tikka could handle ANY more plastic....lol.

Robertson Composites makes a composite stock for a T3....I've just read that on other forums. Worth takin a look at.....

As well Accurate Innovations apparantly has a stock in the works for the T3.....

Another good way to get a nice 'Custom' feel for a Tikka would be.....

Sell the Tikka stock, should get $100 for it or so I'd guess...

Buy a McMillan/Rimrock/Bansner/Wildcat stock, around $550

Sell the Tikka action.....should get $500 for it......

Buy a Rem 700 or Win M70 action.....around $500......

Put the new action in the new custom stock.....and presto...a Custom gun from a Tikka.....

LOL....they is nice shooting guns, but so easy to make fun of at times. I actually really like how they shoot and function.

Ahhhh c'mon now rack, why you gotta bash the T3's? You don't wanna see me get all sheephunter on ya now do ya???

I don't own a T3 but they're a heck of a gun for the price. As far as customizing them, take this from a major tinkerer- Leave em as be. If you wanna do up a rig, start with a m700 or m70. Find one on sale cheap somewhere, and get at er!

And as far as mcmillans go, they're an excellent stock, but the wait right now is something ridiculous like 6 months. I you are in the market for a high end composite, do yourself a favor and check out the wildcat composites. IMHO there are AS good as anything else out there, and I think they are very practical for AB or BC.

My partner shoots the blued synthetic t3 in 25-06. With factory winchester ballistic silvertips in 85 gr i quickly shot a 3 shot group at 300 that went about 1 3/4" while i did my .204 right beside it at 2"....we weren't group shooting....we were just trying to determine drop. Then my partner pulls off a sub 3" group at 500 yrds doing same thing...wanna say it was about 2 5/8"....we had to measure it. How repeatable can we shoot like that? Dunno...just don't overthink it i guess. Shortly i should see what my .270 can do with those 130 grain fusions...one of my two planned range days i gotta squeeze in before the season starts. I think he's still above 3200 fps with the short barrel and those 85 grainers although they list at 3400 fps i think? Might be better to run the heavier bullets though and should see the recommended velocities with the 22" tube?
