Default Ticks in Strathcona County

Took tick #4 into the vet today to be sent to Alberta Health for analysis. They want them alive asap. Take my dog for a walk every day; it's not like he runs free in the bush all day. Fourth tick I found on him this year probably because we're in an area with moose and deer.

Might want to check your person for ticks after hunting. They are out there!

Don't know but if it was a wood tick, it sure has a taste for canine blood! Alberta Health wants as many ticks as possible brought in to the vet clinics. They don't care what kind of ticks.

Three were the size of a pin head and they were stuck into dog's skin and starting to feed. Took them off with hubby's mustache comb. Worked great! Last one was much bigger, maybe three times that size and left quite a red mark around area where I took him off. They were all very active once they got put in a pill bottle.
