Default Which Scope?

I started the thread .338 or 350 rem mag, but ended up buying a .300 WSM in a model 700 XCR. Now the dilemma I have is what kind of scope to put on it. I do not want to spend more than $400. I have been looking at the Burris Fullfield II with the ballistic reticle, as well as the bushnell elite 3200.

The scope would be 3x9x40 in a matte finish. I would also consider a good used scope in that price range if anyone has one. I noticed there are some decent deals on candian gunnutz and optics planet on Leupolds, but are they worth the extra money. I currently have an older Bausch and Lomb elite 3200 3x9x40 on my 280, and am happy with it except the eye relief at higher magnifications. Has bushnell improved on this.

Thanks for your input.

300 WSM has good recoil, you better go with Leupold "Rifleman" series, that has better eye relief . I have one on T3 - 300 WSM 4-12x40 and I'm very happy with this setup. I think, there are $300 for 3-9x40 and $350 for 4-12x40.

Default Scopes

For $400 go with a Leupold VX2 3-9x40 , stay away from the Rifleman series in my books. The Burris FF2 ballistic plex on my buddy's Tikka T3 LS 300WSM is holding up just fine also.

Default Scope

I ended up putting a Leupold VXII 3x9x40. I love it so far. Great eye relief, and crystal clear. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Nice choice Bouski, you wont be dissapointed.

Like someone else stated, IMO if its to go on a serious Rifle I too would steer clear of the "Rifleman" series, especially on a Magnum. You may never have a problem with it, but odds are you will!

Yup, good choice Bou. I've got a couple VXII's same as the one you just got, they are good scopes. I've never had any problems with mine, and I'm sure you'll be happy with yours.
