Seeing as no more experienced members have posted yet iI will give it a go.
Shoot them all first before worrying about price or quality.
Recurves more than compounds will "speak" to you. You will know the one when you shoot it.
I shoot a samick sage, under 150$ 60 pounds at 31"inch draw.
It will put down anything as well as a 500$ recurve.
All imo.
Best of luck!

Are you looking for a short bow, , longer one, custom or factory made?
it's nice to be able to shoot a bunch and try them all , stick bows are very unique in how they shot for the individual person. A person's height often dictates their shooting style and that has as much to do with the length of bow they prefer as their draw length .
I stated with longer style recurves in 1967, but gradually moved to rlatib=vly shorter bows , about 56-68".

Price range would also be a consideration.
There are so many different styles of recurves out there that there that he choices are basically limitless!
I sent you a PM, maybe talk to Petew as well, he ha a good website and has field tested and reviewed a mess of bows!

There are quality bows available for under $200, and for over $2000.
A quality $200 bow is not going to be the same as a $2000 bow, so to answer your question I would need some more information, firstly a realistic expectation of what your budget is. Let me know your draw length too.
That said I would not suggest a big dollar bow as your first one, because you do not know yet what you like, short, long, 1PC, takedown , old school or modern. Are you sure you want a recurve, not a longbow? 30 years ago the recurve was known for more performance, that has changed today and dollar for dollar the RC and LB are about equal in performance. LB's are typically quieter, and rarely have a limb twist.
Have a look thru my reviews at www.peteward.com and see what you like there. Look at the Bearpaw / "Bodnik" bows, these carry a 30 year transferable warranty and are reasonably priced good shooters. The Slick Stick is a good one to consider, or the Crow as a starter bow, mid range priced.
Under the $200 range the Samick Sage / Journey and Bearpaw Hard Hunter are good. {The hard hunter does not have a 30 year warranty.}

If I can help just PM me or email me.
