Default Whitetail lake BC

Tough road into the place. Got a flat on the truck. So did a lot of other people apparently. Tough fishing for sure though August usually is on the lakes. Apparently they stopped stocking the lake 6 years ago. I was told again and again how epic the fishing was in the past. So instead of one of those "You should have been here yesterday" it was more "You should have been here 6 years ago...".

I must have had beginners luck as I landed 3 bows in the first hour of fishing. But after that, no luck for the remaining of the day or the next one. Nice place though with some amazing fishing flats for half the lake. Stocked and sight casted to several fish on the flats but had the last second turn away in all cases...must be the leader...should have used flouro

Well over 20...not much of a fighter though

Lake gets 12,000 fish every year, but they see thousands of flies so they get educated after a while.

Interesting, I was told it wasn't but that was only the "word" at the lake. No facts to back it up.

It was dead when we were there. Weekend after the Aug long weekend. Dead as in maybe a half dozen actual fishing boats throughout the day. Lake that size, I call that freedom
