Default Fallen timber / burnt timer need advice

Hi all, I have been fishing ES1 for about 5 years, but have never been up to the red deer river tribs. If anyone can give me some info for fallen timer am burnt timber at hunter valley I'd be much appreciated.
Are the fishes active up there by hunter valley?
Will I be expecting slow fishing this time of the year?
Are there mainly browns and brookies in the area?
Any tip would be great!
Thanks in advance.
I am planing on going there sometime mid next week (mid August)
Here is a pic of a cuttie that I caught in the ghost river. And this was the most north I have yet explored. Been in castle/oldman area all these years and its time to head north.

You got it. Browns and brookies. I was down on fallen timber and wow has it changed over the years used to be a shallow quick stream now it's a deep meandering pain in the ass..not much luck. There are a lot of streams in that area with browns in them. You will find fishing for browns very challenging in these areas. Once you become proficient with these guys everything else is easy.

I am planing on a day trip to hunter valley area for the first time. I assume that fishing can be tough up there but I'll explore my way up. Saw some trail parallel with burnt timer further up. Hopefully I'll catch a few. Will gear up with 8ft 2wt 6x. From what I was reading, both fallen and burnt were creeks up in that area. I wish I had time to go further north but I only have about 6 or 7 hours include traveling...

Cool

To Rycoma:
By the way your fishing card attracted me to head up to the waiparous/ghost area last Thursday. I did catch some but the fishes wasn't very active. Caught maybe 5 or 6 between 7pm to 9pm. Interesting part is... No brookies? All I got were cuts and a rainbow. Size range between 8" to 12"
Maybe you already got all the brookies LOL!

Nah only a couple brooks mostly cutthroat. Go earlier in the day. Cutties are more active when the light is really good. I find the fishing slow after about 4 PM. It really is a great stream.

You'll find Browns, brookies, and the occasional bull in Fallentimber. Cutts, brookies, and bulls in Burnt Timber.

I suppose that i will find smaller fishes up there since Hunter Valley is close to the head waters.

Srsly? I got out to that creek again last evening and I caught some fat 13" brookies again! And some smaller rainbows in 5" to 10" range. Interesting...

Yeah I caught one that looked like that today as well but it was a hybrid or cut bow. They are a really nice scrappy fish to catch. To be sure on this creek you have to check for any sign of the slash under the jaw.
