Not to throw shade on your light deal...

But you’d be amazed how many Xmas light you’d get if you post a kiiji add..... 90% just want them gone.... it’s amazing.

Default Christmas lights

good to know about people giving lights away.
There are several Senior Care Facilities and Day Cares that would gladly accept the contribution of lights and decorations. Thanks for the tip.

Cabela's Nanaimo. Today...

Place was NUTZ!
And most, while masked, appeared to believe that gave them reason to well invade everyone else's spaces. Frustrating!
Picked up the doormat the Lady wanted, a small soft cooler I wanted, and their 12 pound sausage stuffier I needed (good sale price).

Proceeded to check-out.
In line a spell.
Run through check-out only to first be informed "There is NO exchange rate on US Gift Cards. 1 to 1 ONLY."
Unfair sez I. Carry on.
Then: I can't do US Gift Cards, you must go over to Customer Service.

Another line.
Frustrated.
Finally to the till. Same line about no exchange.
Whatever, I want out of here!
Then....
The system is down. I cannot process any Gift Cards right now.
WTF?
Repeat.
Same answer.
Turned to walk away, PO'd when my Lady grabs me.
You got these items because you wanted them. Sort the bull out later.
Bought them, returned cards to wallet.

Happy with the items when home.
I do know a General Manager back east that ain't going to be quite so happy when I contact him tomorrow...

Should have known better.

And now he gets to be even less "happy"
Unpacked the stuffer when home.
NOT the item I requested.
Wrong stuffer.

Getting better by the minute...

Picked up a scope online from an AO sponsor.
“B” Elite 3500 3-9 x50 for $227.
A good deal for a new scope for my son, entry - mid level.

Yep, did the same. Me and the wife had about a 3 hour ride today. I don’t do Boxing Day sales, the peace on earth good will towards men, gets lost quick the day after Christmas at these sales. On both sides of the counter.

Finally got through to Cabela's HQ (on hold for 2 hours).
The product I wanted has been discontinued.
There are only 2 left in Canada, and they won't send either one.
US Gift Cards can ONLY be used if placing a phone order. Period. No exchange rate. Period.
But, they are sending a $ 20.00 gift card as a way of apologizing...

Sheesh!

Off to Nanaimo... Likely the last time I ever enter that store.

Rocky mountain soap in canmore had some good deals. I only shop for things I use fairly on these sales. I see better prices throughout the year on the more big ticket items. As far as fire arms prophet river had some sakos on an actual sale. Think most of them are gone now though.

Cabelas has become my last place to shop and only if I really need something. The store was extremely rude to my wife over the phone one day when she called to check stock. Refused to go into the store after that and waited in the vehicle. Wife bought me two $100.00 gift certificates last year in town and when I went to use them only one worked. They said too bad on the other one it's got nothing on it. Went home and asked wife if she had the receipts and she said no. Put the card in the garbage and two weeks later she says found the receipt. Took it to Cabelas Edmonton and explained what happened and asked if they can check the receipt and if after a certain amount of time see the card wasn't used get the card re-issued. told receipt is useless what they need is the card and too bad I chucked it. Person on the till should of told me to go to them when the card didn't work. Have a good day. Needless to say no one ever gets Cabelas gift cards anymore and we buy stuff elsewhere even if it's more money. Don't like online ordering but the sponsers here have been fantastic to deal with and are places I can recomend.
