Sabre tip ammo

Found a few old boxes of Sabre tip ammo in 30-06. The 150grains are Dominion brand and 180grain are Imperial. Dominion box has a hefty price tag at $4.57 Anyone used these before?

I used the 30-30 sabre tips back in the early 70s.

Excellent bullets apparently Nosler liked the idea of the tips so much they stole the idea and were hauled into court over it. Don't know if a settlement was reached but much like the RUM line of cartridges resembling the Canadian Imperial magnums.No honor among thieves so it seems.

I still load CIL bullets in my .303’s Sabre Tips and KKSP’s and love them

In 30-06 180 gr,used them all over nfld moose-caribou--many many years.Deadly.You do your part,They wont let you down.

Those were like magical bullets to me back in the 70's....303 and little island deer....

Thanks for replies. Finally got to the range today and shot a few each of the 150s and 180s. My rifle seems to like them so I’ll save the rest for next year hunting and hopefully have some results

I still have a nice supply of CIL 30 cal 180 gr CPE ( Copper Point Expanding ) bullets to reload, they shoot surprisingly nice groups and work very well on game, have loaded them in 30-06 and 300 win mag, have not tried them yet in my 300 RUM, not sure how they would preform on game at the higher velocity
