Default Guesses on this moose score?

Buddy and myself got this moose in late Oct. We still haven’t scored it and actually have never scored a moose because never have got one worthy of scoring Lol. Any guesses from any of you guys that have scored them before?

Wow, a tank. Congrats.

I have no clue on scoring moose. Hope to take the kids to a scoring night to find out what his will end up at.

I would say that bull exceeds 51 inch spread, and maybe 55...

Enjoy it for what it is. Score doesn't reflect properly on moose. You could cut all the points off to 1" and it would still score similarly.

Ya no doubt. I figured this out when I scored my bull last year. The scoring system favors short tines and large pans. My bull (54" wide) scored poorly because it has very long points which is typical of central AB bulls.

Agree, if it's not in the 190-200" mark I'll be shocked.

Long or short a point is worth 1 as long as the point is longer than it is wide. It doesn't really favor short points....you just don't get extra for long ones. BUT long points can increase your spread number. Palmated fronts help your length scores.

Yes, you could have 4- 12" daggers on each side. but if not palmated they score 1" each.

That's a great bull! I think it is closer to 200 than it is to 190. Might gross over 200. Tough to tell with 1 picture.

Congrats on a giant!

Mid 190's bull for sure, its a tank. Moose in my opinion is the worst scoring design in B&C, followed closely by caribou, very little credit given for what can amount to alot of bone. Im in the displacement camp for scoring personally, lol.

Tank of a bull, congrats to you guys!

Yeah, not a particular fan of B&C scoring. I prefer the European method (CIC).

It's close to 190" for sure. 55" wide if that's level and 25 storable points from what I see. Height and width of the paddles aren't huge, you can see his ear is sticking out past the inside of his right antler. Those long times help with the width measurement for sure.

Heck of a bull anyway, we'd kill it
