Default Only two days left for me to tag my buck.

Well I’m down to the wire. Work today and tomorrow then have two days left to hunt. Can’t wait. Snowing up here now so any tracks come Wednesday will be 24 hrs old at most. Anxious but excited. Wish me luck! I don’t think I’m gonna be too picky. Lol.

Ps will post pics once I’m lucky. Fingers crossed

I'm actually in the same boat. Heading out with my brother in law the last 2 days and hoping to hunt hard. I have 1 that I would really like to fill, but even if we don't it's been a great season so far.

Good luck filling those tags!!!

Good luck to you! I am in the same predicament, I have tomorrow and Wednesday to fill a general whitetail, and an antlered moose draw tag. Hopefully one of the two messes up and gives me a shot. Lots of close encounters this year, just no shots. Fingers crossed!!

Thank you and hope your luck improves. As they say , that why it’s hunting not shooting.

Well today was.............slow. Had a buck grunt near me after bleat can calling. with a rather loud grunt. Hard to explain... was a typical grunt you can make with a call but extremely loud. Up wind. Snuck over and found tracks but he was gone. Really thick stuff. His tracks were steady not rushed or spoooked but he left. Not sure he heard me or not but didn’t matter he continued on his way. I don’t recall hearing that intense a grunt before. Almost sounded like a woodpecker. Really loud. Any thoughts?

Sometimes they do a long grunt sounds like a bawl. Deep and Loud.
I do it periodically with my grunt tube too since I saw and heard a buck do it.

I know if long deep toned grunts to be buck tending a doe? Maybe he had a hot doe with or near by and didn't want to lose her.

Good luck, we filled our last buck tag last night! Two bull moose, three whitetail bucks and one mule deer giant.

It it appears to be the sounds he makes when she isn't giving him any and he gets frustrated. Unless the internet is wrong, of course

Here is a nice set of sounds deer make.

P.S. Good luck if you are going out today again! When you hear that sound, at least you know there is a buck around and he is still horny

Update. Nope sorry no pictures. I got skunked. Was the quietest day I’ve had afield. Tried new spot found tons of sign and tracks but all leading into heavy swamp spruce thicket. Tried still hunting into the wind but nope to thick. Impossible to be quiet. Came outa there with thirty pounds of needles down my back and neck and twenty pounds sweat poured out. lol. Had to try. Set up down wind on cut line and waited using bleat can and supple grunts. At about 4 pm a small basket rack came out wouldn’t you know it he was at the furthest point I could see. Picked the wrong end to sit. 510 yards on my range finder. Scurrying down closer as fast as I could being as quiet as possible but he was long gone. Waited and called for the last minutes of shooting light then it was a wrap. checked my trail cam at my other spot on my way out. Nothing. No new pics. 😒
Well at least I have a new place to scout more next year. On my way home Sobys had lean ground beef and blade roasts on sale. Figures. Bought some so I wouldn’t arrive home empty handed. 🤩🤪
Hope others had better luck than me. Never even heard any gun shots today.🤔
