Default Arrow durability

About how durable is a carbon arrow relative to aluminum. I shot many moons ago before carbon and aluminums got bent very easily but never really broke.
Is it correct that carbons don't get bent but do they break easily ?

i have only broken 2 carbons since ive started archery this year, i went through 5 aluminums due to bending. i find carbon much more durable than aluminum. the first one i broke because it impacted a piece of an irrigation pivot (1/2" thick steel) and it basically banana'd the second one i dont know what happend, i think it had something to do with a bad draw and the knock wasnt all the way attached to the string, it split in 2 when it hit the target. those were both easton's carbons, apparently they make very good arrows, i stick to carbon express preditors, i havent broke one yet.

I have never shot aluminums so I have a one sided opinion here.

I shoot Carbon express arrows and have never broke or bent an arrow.Every animal I have shot has been a complete pass threw except 1.The arrows that I have recovered from animals would only need a sharpen and you could use them again if you wish.Very tough and not easy to break imho.

Life span of a Carbon arrow in my experiance ends when:

1. a solid rock or other extremely hard surfaces are hit
2. your buddy or yourself " accidentally" hit your arrow while practicing
3. Animal you shot with it does not get a pass through falls and breaks the arrow, or breaks from running and catching something.
4. if your using lumenocks the prongs will over time being shot work its way and start cutting into the shaft.

and of course using too soft of spine in a high poundage bow is a no no and typically results in a 1 time use arrow and you may or may not hit intended target, with a good possibility of paying the emergency room a visit.
