I know you don't want to order shafts but.....three rivers is the way to go. Here's whatcha do- order the wooden arrow test kit in the spine range that you shoot. Get it to overlap so you have arrows below the spine you think you need and above too. Example if you shoot a 50 lb recurve get some
40-45, 50-55, 55-60 or something like that then see which ones shoot the best. Put away your test kit and don't use it for fooling around with keep it for experimenting, then order the arrows that shot the best. You can't just get wooden arrows and hope they behave well in your bow and most arrow makers/sellers won't spend the time with you to see what shoots the best. they simply want to sell you a dozen arrows and be on their way. I'm amazed how well my longbow shoots with the proper arrows.

have fun

Hey Bull. I don't know how far you want to travel. but Jack Kempf in Sherwood Park usually has arrows in stock (also makes outstanding longbows and recurves) If that's the route you want to go, throw me a PM and I'll and find a # for him.

If you want to shoot traditional and cedar you had better learn to make arrows. A fletcher costs $30.00, feathers run $25 to *28 per hundred.
You can get Ramin Shafts for a buck a piece, or $90 per hundred shafts. Points and nocks are cheap.
Making wood is easy, and you will get some shafts that will not straighten.
To get premium wood and have it weight and spine sorted you pay a lot.
It is not unusual to have wood shafts vary up to 100 grains in a dozen.
3 Rivers arrows that I have seen are not very good at all.
Jack kempf does make very good arrows and also sells the components to make your own. He will build them to suit your needs. He makes a great bow too.

For when I need wood I use the 5/16 Ramin. Tougher than cedar and a lot cheaper.
It is cheaper to shoot carbon in the long run though. Just make sure they will weigh at least 8 gr per pound.

If I can be any help shoot me an Email pete@peteward.com

Hey Trav:
When are we going to see you with a stick and string in your hands?
It's not that hard to learn.
