I did my proposal back in November. Told her I diid'nt wat a gf hunting with me the next day. Asked if she'd do it as my wife. So I went out and shot ducks with my Fiance. She got her first duck that day. I was so nervous.. I did it on a saturday and did'nt sleep friday night and could barely talk all saturday. The plan was meant for dinner on sun but I could.nt last. Every important decicion should make you nervous. Congrats to you- hopefully she says yes. Best of luck( not for the question but for the 20 years after it). Mine took her ring I chose and picked one the same but the rock half the size- She saved me 1800. And yes get it insured.. RH

Congrats!!! but I will say I agree with most here saying propose before the party. Either in the Limo, maybe you could pour her some champagne with the ring in the glass, for example. Or stop somewhere along the way and do it. Where is somewhere real romantic, yet not freezing cold in case it is real cold... what about the World of science, star observatory? or something like that. I don't know Its been many years since I lived in Edmonton. I like the tree idea too but I think someone might get mad if you start carving on a tree in someones yard lol. just kidding. I guess there is the river valley..
Anyways whatever you do, I'm sure she will love it. But if you do, do it before, then she will get to show everyone at the party her ring and announce it, women love that part lol. Good luck!

She will need the time. Dont put her on the spot.
And dont plan every little detail ..... when the timing is right, do it.
Go get 'er kid......
My 2 cents.

first of all, Congrats man. I popped the question this past summer and it was the best thing I have ever done. Second, be prepared to have all your preparations tossed out the window(if that makes sense). I had everything I was gonna say planned out.... The adrenalin hits you like you have a 250 inch whitey in your scope. I have no idea what I said . But the answer was yes and all was good. Good luck.

mulecrazy, rest assured that though you can't remember a word you said when you proposed last summer, she remembers every single one.
In detail.
Forever.
Not always a good thing. lol

Congratulations mud slug! Another lady's perspective here.... definitely do it before the party whenever the moment seems right, not necessarily when you've planned it for. If you're nervous that's great! lol Means you really care! Good Luck!!
Twofifty, I'm sensing that you find our excellent memories to be one of our less appealing qualities...lol

Holy talk about bumping a dead thread. This thing is nearly a year old.
But it did remind me that the Engagement Ring is the first in the 3 rings of a man's life.
The engagement RING
The Wedding RING
The SuffeRING.
