Default Edmonton and Area Gas Prices - Such a Deal!

Have you noticed there is a 41.5 cent per litre difference in Edm and area gas prices. Price ranges anywhere from 95.4 to 136.9. There must be a gas war on in Spruce Grove, their gas is actually 4.5 cents a litre cheaper than Costco, who usually owns the lowest price.

First noticed this coming from Peace River, gas was 116.9 in Rycroft, 136.9 in Valleyview, 118.7 in Whitecourt and 95.4 in Spruce Grove.

Really worth while shopping around, Gas Buddy makes that really easy. I know I save almost $45 on one fill when I filled my 135 litre tank in the pickup by waiting to gas up at Spruce Grove.

I have an Esso, Shell, Domo, Hughes, CT and Husky all in my area. Its crazy what the price differences are with so many so close to each other. The Husky is almost always 5 cents or more cheaper but I get to use Safeway or Hughes coupons which gets me cheaper gas.

I want to buy some tires at CT real soon so I am using their pumps when there is no deals to boost my CT money.

I've had a HUSKY card for 15 yrs, this year I cancelled it, due to the fact they are always 5 cents higher than all the rest ..BTW yesterday Nov 15th Costco was .99 per litre 149th street

When we are getting $13 a barrel for our Western Canadian Select oil a fair price would be about 50 cents a liter for gas. How can Big Oil explain $1.35 for diesel in Fox City even with $56/bbl west texas oil.

Do the math on the taxes that our Grubby Government imposes on the price per L.
World price of a barrel has dropped, just read that on MSN news, but didnt go past the headline.
Just add https before the colon marks ://retail.petro-canada.ca/en/fuelsavings/gas-taxes-canada.aspx

interestingly enough just checked Gasbuddy this morning and a whole bunch of places must have wised up. Lowest regular is still 95.9 but the highest priced station has now dropped to 112.9 from 136.9 yesterday. Guess the lack of business clued them in but that is still 20 bucks on a pickup fill..

The last few days I've been filling up at Safeway gas stations for 102.9 and using a $0.15 off a liter coupon.

It seems when ever i compare the Crowsnest Pass to other areas in Alberta we have very high prices. Just checked the 4 stations we have to buy fuel at(gas buddy) and regular gasoline is 126.9 and diesel is 132.9.

Edmonton .955 - .979 avg, Lloydminster $1.17

I heard about a 'council' started in Lloydminster in the 70's that basically set fuel prices, that still runs today. I believe it. I know the man that headed up the program.

Call it a conspiracy theory of you like, Lloydminster is always on top of the bubble, relatively speaking.

Over the last few weeks the local gas price at the 7-11 I go by every day has been anywhere from 1.03 to 1.17.9. There have been three or four days when it is one price on the way to work, another on the way home and another the next day and it has changed pretty much every three days or so anyway.. Not sure what they are doing, but it is the strangest fluctuation I've ever seen on gas.

Interestingly enough, there is still a 26 cents a litre spread in gas prices, 84.9 to 110.9. Saw 4 cars and a pickup filling up at Fast Gas at 103.9, PetroCan in the same parking lot was 87.9. Cost of living must not be affecting some as much as others. That is over 6 bucks on a 40 litre fill. Thank goodness for Costco and the others who help keep prices down.

Merry Christmas all.

Not real sure that is fair. The prices are posted on a lit, REALLY BIG sign on each station. If people freely choose to pay 30% more for their gas, not really much more you can do to help them. If I could sell the exact same stuff for 30% more and not have less business, pretty sure I would do it too.

Filled up today, cost me $52 from a tank on fumes.

Usually costs about $70 with 1/8'th of a tank left.

But I'd gladly pay $100 a tank and have our red hot economy back

Big Oil does not care if they use $14 oil to feed their refinery then pocket the enormous profit. They are struggling to get gas over $1.00 a liter for all the Christmas driving, but Costco, Tempo and Coop are trying to give us fair gas prices in Edmonton. We finally have some real free market pricing for change.

They're showing the Tempo in Sp Grove at 89.9 on Gas Buddy. Are you getting or is there a discount available for Tempo's, don't normally fill there?:
