Default Martin Hagn

Dang, I just saw on the 'Fire that Martin Hagn died, the post I saw was from November 28th.
For those that did not know him or his work, the man was an incredible German Master gunsmith . He marketed falling block rifles in four sizes.
A friend of mine up here years ago had Martini and Hagn build a double 470 Nitro for an African hunt, it was outrageously expensive!
He took it to Africa, shot a Cape Buffalo (among other critters) and sold it when he got back for almost what he paid for it!

Makes a person wonder at what will become of his actions down the road, unless he already passed it all on to someone, I expect they'll disappear.

I'm guessing that Ralf Martini will get most of them as I beleive he did most of the metalwork . Martin did most of the woodwork. Great workmanship on both ends, any way they cut it.

That is truly sad to hear. The guy was a true artist and master craftsman. Very few like him in the world, and he was a hell of a nice guy on top of that. Hope he finds a peaceful work bench where he is going.

FYI...

A gunsmith in Three Hills; Chris Griesbach (1-587-321-0848), apprenticed with Martin Hagn and Chris's craftsmanship shows it.

Chris worked for Martin near 20 years and was close to his family, before moving back to Alberta.

He will be the first to say he will be missed and internationally respected.
