What size scope rings?

What size scope rings do you think I will need on a weatherby vanguard 22-250 with a 4-16x44 vortex viper HS scope. I myself am thinking medium scope rings will be fine I'm going to be using the leupold STD base mount and rings.

Medium rings should work fine.

What about a 4-16x50 scope would i need the high rings for that?

Yep usually will say on the weaver and vortex ring packs that they will work up to a certain objective size for future reference but yes a 50+ MM objective will almost always requires a "high" set of rings..
