Default BAT Family

Finished painting all the barrels chambered to my BAT action ... and posed them for a family picture including stocks bedded to the action ... and barrels.
Top is 30-284 in a Wildcat stock / KSA bottom metal w/HS magazine / Jewell trigger.
Directly under is Rem 700 hinged floorplate bottom metal W/ box magazine.
Top two loose barrels are chambered to 308 Win. Next down is 30BR.
Middle stock is a Rem LTR take-off made by HS Precision with Alum block.
Below are two loose barrels chambered to 6.5 X 47L.
Bottom wood stock is a Rem 700 BDL take-off.
Bottom barrel is chambered to 6 Dasher.
Everything is interchangeable at home. I think the math says 1132 possible combinations.

Could you take a picture of each combination please?

Probably have the threads wore smooth after the first hundred.

That’s pretty neat! How long does it take you to do a barrel swap?

Take $25 for the BDL stock?

Mid to late 80's version I believe.

To change a barrel...about 15 - 20 minutes from start to finish if tools are out. Each Of the following steps typically takes less than 2 minutes. First remove the “old” barreled action from the stock...for most this only requires the removal of two “screws” (bolts). Scope can remain on the action but I prefer to remove it. Then......
(1) Secure barrel vise in the bench vise.
(2) Insert “old” barreled action in barrel vise and clamp it solid.
(3) Remove bolt, insert rear port action wrench, unscrew “old” action from barrel.
(4) Remove “old” barrel from barrel vise, insert “replacement” barrel, put anti-seize on threads.
(5) Thread action on barrel, insert rear port action wrench, torque to 50 ft. lbs
(6) Remove action wrench, insert “go” headspace gauge, insert bolt to check that it closes.
(7) Eject the “go” gauge and place a thickness of painters tape tape on the base to make it a “no-go” gauge, insert...confirm that bolt will not close.
(8) Remove barreled action from the vise.
(9) Instal in stock, torque action screws.
Ready to remount scope it was initially removed.
NOTE: To lessen the chance of leaving a mark on the barrel, I put a wrap of brown paper around the barrel where the barrel vise clamps down on it.

No way, I paid $50.00 for it. Another $25.00 for pillars and glass bedding. Did it for a “lark” to make the gun into a “sleeper”. Dinged up old rifle sitting on a bench averaging 1/2 MOA = sleeper.
