This is (hopefully) good news. Looking at this realistically Trudeau has to realize he would likely loose more votes than he gain by following through on his threats.

CTV Calgary presented the news in a favorable light to handgun owners. Pointed out lots of feedback punishing the legal gun owner & doing little to nothing to prevent gun crime. Well done!

Would anyone be surprised if The Dope and his compliant minions completely ignored this and passed a ban anyway?

Would not be surprised at all, but I don't think they are going to ram a ban before the election or make it an election issue in the fall. He has enough ****ed off people over SNC already.

If they get a second term I have no doubt a NZ or Australian style ban would be coming.

Even Blair said recently, that it won't happen til they are re-elected, they are looking at the future on it. Our worst nightmare now, is a minority Con or Lib gov't that puts the NDP or a Quebec party in control, then it will happen next term, Con gov't or not.

In light of the observations and conclusions of the survey, it would be politically asinine to introduce any kind of a firearm ban or additional restrictions, considering such a large number of people who did not own firearms were overwhelmingly opposed to any further bans or legislation. these were not the results the Lieberals were expecting and I am quite surprised they were released to the public.

You may be correct: remember when the Conservative government in Alberta supported the RCMP confiscating firearms in High River.
