Cat, where's the mag on that #4mk1 ya got there? I'm going to have to take a picture of my dad's Anschutz .22 that I've pretty much commandeered.

In a drawer, IIRC, that rifle balances exactly where the mag should be?

Hey, it's a battle rifle wasn't designed for hunting lol. I guess to the designers 10 rnd mag cap was more important than than being able to carry at point of balance.

For when it's sitting on the rack, not when it's hunting!!
Never hunted with that one anyway, it's a Bisley veteran, and it was given to my son by his Uncle who used it to win many championships, several at Bisley.
I use it occasionally for service rifle matches and for our 303 match in rifle rodeo.

Here is my favorite. My Browning A-Bolt in 30/06. There will be others come and go but this old girl is like a loyal dog and will never leave my side.

Here is my new favorite. It was built for RickF by Bill Leeper, and was also owned by Rackmastr. Now I own it and it is a keeper. All groups where with 140gr TTSX's and 150gr B-Tips. It is in .284 Winchester.

That's because the rifle was designed to have the bayonet fixed. I cant see your picyute, but I'm assuming the bayonet is off???

It has nothing to do with the balance of the rifle in the hand, but where it normally sits on the pegs, the peg usually is right where the mag is!
I recently changed the position, and left the mag in the drawer.

That rifle was an unissued Longbranch, BTW.

Ya know, I can't remember!!
I DO KNOW that it will still shoot about 1.5MOA.
It has seen a LOT of rounds over the years in matches.Last time I shot it at 1,000 , it did fine, and had some very good groups on the 2 MOA bull that I had painted on the steel.

My current "go-to rifle," my 8lb 300 RUM. I LOVE this rifle. 600 m and 700 m groups from one of those great days at the range, and then a few results from the 2008 season!

Hey cat, if you ever feel that you need to reduce your inventory and want to sell that Longbranch, don't be a stranger!

Sorry, it's one of the "never to sell" rifles in my stable .
it was owned by one of our family who won some very big service rifle competitions with it.
Actually, I think the Captain gave it to my son as well!
It is still in my name however, gonna have to change that....

When I bought this Ruger MK II in .338 Win. the summer of 92 it changed my outlook on rifles and thought I had seen the light and decided no other could do, this rifle fit me to a T and with a full summer of loading and shooting found accuracy that exceeded all reasonable expectations. I sold all my other rifles and have used it exclusively until 2005. That year I picked up a model 94 30-30, something about a 30 caliber round nose as a meat gun just feels right. This year I picked up a Model 7 in .350 Rem mag and it is a dream to shoot. Did well on a couple of deer with it but no photos of it. Maybe next year.

I'd like to post a few pics, but my gun room is much too messy to be showing off. I'm glad it's warming up a bit, and I can get out shooting. Great looking guns everybody, Eric
