Much to be said for staying in the game, 'til you KNOW it's a done deal. Gotten bit myself
once, wasn't the biggest deer of my life but it was still awful.
I can take or leave Barnes bullets...I've done some killing with them (168 TSX .30-06) and if what a person wants is a bullet to be able to angle from a shoulder to a hip on an elk or a moose than you'll probably not find any better. Through the rib cage on deer didn't seem to churn the insides up quite the way I like but in hindsight that particular bullet was probably moving too slow to show those type of results....I'm thinking I may try a 130 TSX/TTSX from a .30-06 to see how they do...
