A Crisis of Epic Proportion!!!
Fishin Hole does not stock the F 5 Yellow Flatfish with black and red spots??
Cabellas does not stock it either?
Anyone know where i can find some in Edmonton? These things really work!

Maybe Canadian Tire? Walmart?
Listed on Bass Pro site, but would have to order.
Best I got. Sorry.
Order half dozen or so and when they get down to 2 or 3 reorder I guess.

If I still have any in my fishing box you can have them. I have not used that colour in years it’s never been a big producing flatfish for me

Thanks guys for the effort!!
I AM afraid the color gets dropped like the red and white which is sometimes very good on brook trout. I have only 1 left but kwickfish makes that color as well.
This is almost as bad as the Phoebe crisis I encountered, which is a very deadly jigging spoon for walleye through the ice!!
Oh God, why have you forsaken me???

Its all too common to find a hook that works well only to have it dropped. I have one crankbait that worked wonders on the NSR but was quickly discontinued. I even emailed Rapala a photo asking what the color scheme was called and they told me that color never existed. But somehow I had 3 in my tackle box at the time?
There are also some tiny flat fish in florescent orange I can not find anymore. Best lure I have found for a local trout pond. Lost my last one last year
Deadly Dicks with the dark holographic orange seem to have dried up.
I have started to repaint some of my old lures to imitate the ones that are no longer made.

You can always get a a couple silver flatfish and hand paint them the colors you want them.

Try Amazon? I was looking to buy a Fox Gear leather belt, couldn’t find one I liked in Edmonton, ordered one off Amazon at 3:36 on Monday, Tuesday at 3:25 they were knocking on my door with my belt!
Not even 24hrs from the time I placed the order until the time it was delivered.

Sometimes you just gotta have the right hook...I sense your panic Drewski. Hand painted and modified never seems to work like the original. I've tried to replicate a certain whitefish hook and tried nailpolish that was a color match to my eyes, but the fish know the difference.

"Your definition of crisis leaves me scratching my head"
This is the first Poster who doesn't get it!!!
You're obviously not as passionate about the sport as some of us here!
Long ago, My Baby Bro and I put mylar flash tape on Zingers, and lacquered the edges with clear nail polish. We were hammering springs in Tribune Bay with MANY other boats surrounding us, sometimes within 20 feet of us while we fighting Chinooks, trying to figure out what was different on our Zingers from theirs.
Word go out, and guys where driving to Victoria from Deep Bay to get the mylar adhesive tape.
You see, those guys understand passion!!!
And as for the rest of reality? I'd rather be fishing and dealing with a crisis that is important to me.

I'm as passionate about fly fishing for trout as any one but I don't go bitchinbellyackin to the whole world when I can't find the right colour hackle to tie up my favourite fly. Suck it in Billy Bob.

Still scratching my head. Oxford dictionary definition of crisis: a time of danger or great difficulty. Didn't see that happening here, just some perceived annoyance.

Well think of it from the trout's perspective. If I find some of those Flatfish, it will indeed be a time of danger for them!!
The danger for me is that I don't find them!!!
Now we have a real crisis from both points of view!!
But as for your quest for that hackle or other fly tying material, it obviously has not hit epic proportions for you .... yet. Lets hope that it does.
Otherwise, just another guy who is an armchair observer of the true passion of fishing.
